JERUSALEM, March 20: Israel and France are to launch a joint satellite for “scientific purposes” in 2008, the Israeli Maariv newspaper said on Sunday.
Israel has set aside 20 million dollars for the satellite, with France to add another 10 million euros (13 million dollars), to be built by Israel Aircraft Industries and Israel’s Rafael Armament Development Authority. Maariv said the satellite would be built under Israeli direction and launched in 2008. —AFP
