Arrests of political workers criticized

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, March 9: The Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) has criticized the arrest of political workers and said that through such steps the government wanted to pave way for launching a military operation against Balochs.

Party spokesman Senator Sana Baloch condemned the recent police action in Marri camp and Killi Qambrani, and termed it state terrorism against Balochs. "These actions were increasing hatred among the people against the state and its institutions," he said and warned that if the rulers did not stop these actions, they would face retaliation.

"Reaction of Balochs to state atrocities could result in a big crisis," Sana Baloch warned the government and said the Baloch people were struggling for their national rights. He alleged that the government was provoking the people into retaliation to justify military operation in different areas of the province.

The senator said Balochs had chosen political, democratic and peaceful way to get their rights, but if the government did not stop, they could adopt any other way for this purpose.

Senator Sana Baloch demanded that national and international human rights organizations should take notice of the atrocities committed against innocent students and political workers.
