LAHORE: Three more human smugglers arrested

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, March 9: The Federal Investigation Agency claimed on Wednesday to have arrested three employees of a private school for sending people to Finland under the garb of scouts and teachers.

Officials told Dawn that a liaison officer of Finland had asked the agency to investigate that some Pakistanis who managed to reach there on fake documents had obtained visas showing them scouts and teachers of the Chand Bagh School (Lahore).

The FIA probed the matter and arrested three employees of the school who had confessed to their crime. They were identified as Altaf Husain, Aqeel Ali and Shafqat Mahmood.

During interrogation, they revealed that they used to take Rs500,000 per person and send them abroad with the assistance of Qaiser Tanvir, an owner of a travel agency on Davis Road.

An FIA team, headed by inspector Haider Abbas, raided their whereabouts in Lahore on Wednesday and arrested them. A case has been registered against the accused under the Immigration Ordinance and Human Trafficking Ordinance.
