President for increased trade with Japan

RAWALPINDI, March 9: President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday underlined the need for enhancement of trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Japan.

He was talking to a trade delegation of Japan led by Akiniko Yamamoto, parliamentary secretary for economy, trade and industry, which called on him here on Wednesday.

The president highlighted the measures and economic reforms introduced for liberalizing trade and attracting foreign investment in the country. He wished the delegation fruitful interactions with Pakistani businessmen.

The delegation members appreciated the economic performance of Pakistan as a result of wide-ranging economic reforms. They were of the view that economic conditions in the country were conducive for foreign investment and a number of international business organisations were keen to invest in Pakistan. -APP
