Group asks Pakistan to charge or release US citizens: NEW YORK, March 09: An international human rights group said Pakistan must immediately charge or release two US citizens of Pakistani origin, who had been abducted from their home in Karachi and have since been "disappeared." Thirty Iraqis slain near Syria border as Baghdad truck bomb kills four: BAGHDAD, March 09: Thirty people were found shot dead in a known trouble spot on the Iraq-Syrian border today and a suicide truck bomb attack on Baghdad's agriculture ministry and a hotel occupied by US contractors killed four and wounded 40. Nineteen people found shot dead in Iraqi town: BAGHDAD, March 09: The bodies of 19 people who were shot dead were found in the western Iraqi town of Qaim, hospital sources said today. Talks on West Bank security transfer end without deal: JERICHO, March 09: Talks on ceding Israeli security control to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank cities of Jericho and Tulkarem ended without a deal today, a Palestinian official said. "We did not reach a final agreement yet," Haj Ismail Jabr, the top Palestinian security official in the West Bank, told reporters after the talks in Jericho. Talks would continue with Israeli commanders on handing over "full authority to the Palestinian Authority in the Jericho area" after further consultations at a political level, he said. A second meeting today also failed to make progress for the same reasons, namely Israeli insistence of control over the checkpoints and Al-Auja, Palestinian officials told AFP. Thaksin formally re-elected as Thai PM: BANGKOK, March 09: Thaksin Shinawatra was formally re-elected today as prime minister of Thailand, making him the kingdom's first democratically elected premier to hold a second term. Thaksin, 55, was the only candidate for the post.
