Govt. PPPP talks bound to fail: Baloch - RAWALPINDI, Mar 08: Central Deputy Secretary General Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Liaqat Baloch has said that the talks between government and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) were bound to fail. Talking to newsmen after a meeting regarding preparations of protest against removal of religious column in passport here today, he said the Musharraf was even committing political murder of his dearest ones to bring about change in his team. He said that MMA would not attend any meeting of National Security Council (NSC) because NSC in its composition was a supra parliament body. The local government official, Mohammad Ayub was gunned down at a bus stop in Danyore, a police official told AFP on condition of anonymity. Residents panicked and shops were closed as the news of the official's death spread, while security forces were put on alert in the city, witnesses said. The province's police chief, Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob, told reporters in Quetta that the suspects were being funded by a Baloch nationalist family of Mir Kher Bakhsh Mari. In an Internet statement, al Qaeda's wing in Iraq said it was behind the assassination of police Major General Ghazi Mohammed, who worked in the ministry's immigration department. Speaking at the opening of the 10th session of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Abbas insisted the Palestinian Authority was serious about its side of confidence-building gestures agreed upon in early February. The PA "has demonstrated its seriousness in implementing our commitments at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit despite Israeli occupation and a lack of means," he told MPs in an address broadcast live on television. Kosovo PM indicted for war crimes; to resign: PRISTINA, March 08: Kosovo Prime Minister has been charged with war crimes by the United Nations tribunal and will resign his post today to answer accusations in The Hague, a senior government source said. Rumours that Ramush Haradinaj was about to be charged by Hague chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte had circulated since before he became prime minister last December, raising fears of violence if NATO peacekeepers were forced to arrest him. "Yes, the Prime Minister has been informed he has an indictment," a senior official in the Kosovo government told Reuters. "We have to face it. "He has informed the President (Ibrahim Rugova). He will resign today...and will fly to the Hague tomorrow." (Reuters) (Posted @ 15:45 PST) Prince Rainier hospitalized with bronchial infection: MONACO, Mar 08: Prince Rainier of Monaco, who is suffering from a form of bronchitis, must remain in hospital for several days, a spokesman for the monarch said today. "The prince will soon be 82 years old, so we are taking any risks," Armand Deus told journalists. Rainier, who has ruled the principality since 1949, entered the Cardio-Respiratory Centre of Monte Carlo earlier today, the fifth time in 15 months that the 81-year-old ruler has been hospitalized with an illness. "It is closer to bronchitis (than pneumonia)," Deus said. Lawyers representing Bashir argued that the guilty verdict against Bashir was solely based on a police statement purportedly made by a convicted Bali bomber named Mubarok but whose veracity was not proven during the trial.
