PESHAWAR: Rs531m spent on Kurram Agency projects


PESHAWAR, March 7: The government has spent Rs531 million on 100 ongoing and 17 new development projects in Kurram Agency during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

"As many as 43 projects, including two small dams, were targeted for completion by the end of current fiscal year," said a Fata Media Cell (FMC) press release issued here on Monday.

It said that under the Green Kurram Valley Project (GKVP) costing Rs38.900 million, six community farms had been established; 3,000 acres wasteland reclaimed; 3,000 acres land prepared for drought-tolerant orchards and six abandoned tube-wells had been made usable for community.

Under the Sustainable Plains Development Project (SPDP), another 650 acres wasteland had been reclaimed; 25 acres nursery established and a number of flood dams constructed, the press release said.
