BD, Indian forces trade fire

By Our Correspondent

DHAKA, March 4: The Bangladesh Rifles and the Indian Border Security Force exchanged gunshots over an Indian bid to erect barbed-wire fence along the Ramgarh border in Khagrachhari district on Friday.

The two forces traded fire three times during the day. There was no casualty on the Bangladesh side, sources said.

In Lalmonirhat district, the BSF tried to push some Bangla-speaking Indians into Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Rifles and local people foiled the attempt.
