PESHAWAR: Medical camp held near Kohat

PESHAWAR, Feb 27: Begum Shamim Iftikhar, wife of the NWFP governor, on Saturday arranged a day-long free medical camp in Tora Stana area in the district Kohat, says an official handout.

The camp was held in collaboration with a social welfare organisation of the Khyber Medical College (KMC) which is known as the Youth Wing of Pakistan Red Crescent Society.

Senior doctors and medical students of the KMC provided free treatment to people from adjoining localities. Free medicines were also provided to them. The camp was first of its kind in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Begum Shamim said that keeping in view pressing needs of the people, more similar camps would be arranged in the province. She welcomed selfless services and devoted spirit of the doctors as well as medical students in the free medical camp.

She thanked doctors and students for their cooperation and assistance and expressed hope that they would continue their mission with the same zeal and spirit. -APP
