KARACHI: No inquiry against Arif Jatoi - Arbab

KARACHI, Feb 21: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Monday contradicted a report quoting him as saying that an inquiry against the former food minister Arif Mustafa Jatoi was under way.

Terming the report appearing in a section of press 'baseless and concocted', a spokesman for the chief minister said that Dr Arbab made no reference to any such thing.

"While replying to a question that whether an inquiry was being conducted against Mr Arif Jatoi, the chief minister had clearly told journalists that Mr Arif Jatoi had resigned due to his pre-occupations. He had also stated that an inquiry is being conducted against some officials involved in the Sabzi Mandi matter and not against Mr Jatoi."

MURTAZA JATOI: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Food and Agriculture Murtaza Khan Jatoi has said that he would not comment on the removal of revenue minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh because the matter had been referred to a fact- finding team. "I will wait for its decision," he added.

Talking to APP here on Monday, Mr Jatoi said that he would abide by the decisions of the party high command and whatever deemed in the interest of Sindh, would be better. He stressed on accepting the decisions taken by the high command in the interest of the party and the province. -APP
