PESHAWAR, Feb 19: The General Officer Commanding of the 7th Div, Maj-Gen Mohammad Akram Sahi, has said that the military was preparing a master plan for the beautification and uplift of Peshawar Cantonment.

"We have the honesty, commitment and dedication to do that," he said at a presentation for the beautification and uplift of Peshawar Cantonment at the 7th Division here on Friday.

Peshawar Cantonment Station Commander Brig Salim and Peshawar Cantonment Board Chief Executive Fida Hussain were also present during the presentation which besides others was attended by a three-member team of the Save Peshawar Movement that had been specially invited.

The GOC, while referring to the SPM meeting with Peshawar Corps Commander Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain, said that the military was interested in beautification and uplift of Peshawar Cantonment.

He said that the military authorities were considering a master plan to do the job in a more comprehensive manner. "We want to leave something for the future generation to remember us for the good work we are doing," he said.

Later, Institute of Cost and Management Sciences director Tajjamul Hayat and head of the Fanoon (Pvt) Ltd - a body of architects and landscapers - also gave presentations.
