Published February 16, 2005

KHAIRPUR, Feb 15: Nine Awam Dost UC nazims have said that politicians belonging to the ruling coalition are taking undue advantage with the help of police.

Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, PPP-backed UC nazims Syed Amjad Ali Shah, Mohammad Wadhyal and others said some politicians were playing on police stations politics because they depended only on the police support.

They said impartial and honest officers had been transferred and administrative heads wanted to post officers of their choice before the local bodies' elections.

They said the transfer of DPO Imran Yaqoob Minhas was only one example. They said it showed that before local bodies' elections, they wanted their own obedient type of officers.
