QUETTA: Councillors, ulema take out procession

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Feb 5: Nazims, councillors and ulema on Saturday vowed to continue their support to the freedom struggle of Kashmiris against Indian occupation.

District Nazim Mohammad Rahim Kakar led a procession of councillors, ulema and activists of the Pakistan Workers' Party from the district government office to Liaquat Park.

Mr Kakar said Pakistan had always supported the just cause of Kashmiris.

Leaders of the Jamaat-i-Islami, speaking at a rally at the press club, said President Gen Pervez Musharraf's suggestion of different options on the conflict had harmed the freedom struggle.

They said the government's Kashmir policy did not reflect the aspirations of the people. They said a peaceful solution to the problem was not possible without recognition of the freedom fighters as the representative of the occupied valley.
