Drawback rates on 24 items reduced

ISLAMABAD, Feb 5: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has reduced the rates of duty drawback on export of around 24 kinds of items.

The new rates of duty to be effective from February 3, 2005 were announced through 13 different customs notifications issued here.

The rate of duty drawback will be 0.88 per cent of the fob value on export of shaving blades made of carbon; 4.90 per cent of the fob value on shaving blades made of stainless steel/platinum; 3.16 per cent of the fob value on single blade disposable razor; 3.82 per cent of the fob value on twin blade disposable razor and 2.13 per cent of the fob value on twin blade disposable cartridge.

And the rate of duty drawback will be 2.92 per cent of the fob value on export of quartz clocks, all sorts; 0.90 per cent of the fob value on rubber radiator hoses and rubber hose pipes; 4.60 per cent of the fob value on plastic erasers made of more than 50 per cent content of PVC moulding compound; Rs46.67 per 100-kg on high tension and low tension electrical porcelain insulator and fuse units of all types; 3.71 per cent of the fob value on disc insulator for transmission and distribution electrical lines; 0.92 per cent of the fob value on eye make-up sticks (kajal); 2.35 per cent of the fob value on shoe cream (all colours and pack sizes); 2.60 per cent of the fob value on box board, printed or unprinted, all sorts; 8.80 per cent of the fob value on printed box board cartons, all sorts; 0.58 per cent of the fob value on packets for henna powder; Rs2.39 per kilogram on stainless steel utensils and kitchen wares of various sizes.

According to the notifications, the new rate of duty drawback will be 3.82 per cent of the fob value on washing powders or detergents; 3.59 per cent of the fob value on sweet plain biscuits; 3.43 per cent of the fob value on sweet cream biscuits; 4.15 per cent of the fob value on wafer biscuits; 4.53 per cent of the fob value on saltish biscuits; 5.90 per cent of the fob value on hard boiled candies including mentholated drops, milk based candies, butter candies, special laminated candies, assorted flavours; 7.88 per cent of the fob value on toffees and chocolates without flour (assorted flavours, including chewable toffees all sorts.
