LAHORE, Feb 1: The PML-N held a meeting of Lahore MPs and Nazims here on Tuesday to formulate election strategy for by-polls in NA-127.

The party has fielded Advocate Naseer Bhutta against the ruling party's Farooq Amjad Mir, who has resigned as Naib Nazim of Lahore district.

The meeting, presided over by MNA Pervaiz Malik, deputed one MPA for each union council in the constituency to supervise electioneering there. It also prepared a schedule for election meetings which would also be addressed by central leaders of the ARD and the MMA, including Makhdoom Amin Fahim and Qazi Husain Ahmad.

A committee headed by Muhammad Mahdi was formed to seek support of Pakistan Awami Tehrik president Dr Tahirul Qadri, who had vacated the seat by resigning against dual office bill passed by the National Assembly, and leaders of other parties holding sway in the area for Mr Bhutta.
