He said, "The SSGC has realized the importance of literacy and with that in mind we have started a literacy programme for the low-income areas of the country. We have completed the first part of this programme, but spreading literacy is not something that can be stopped after making a few people literate.

Today's programme is the end of one phase and the beginning of second phase of SSGC literacy programme," he said. Through this programme, he said, the SSGC had made 1241 people literate in four districts - Nawabshah, Badin, Lyari, and Ziarat.

In the second phase, he said, Sukkur, Tharparkar, Quetta, Gawadar, Sibbi, and Hub would be added to the list of districts where 2,100 people would be made literate.
