NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 1: Members of the Citizen Alliance held a demonstration on the Moro-Bandhi road in protest against the killing of Abdul Qadir alias Yousuf Machhi reportedly in an encounter with police.

Relatives of the deceased and members of NGOs, led by Safar Machhi, the father of the deceased, Rakhial Morai, Nadir Solangi, Shabbir and Asghar Solangi, blocked the road for traffic.

The protesters carrying body also went to the Moro police station where TPO Ghulam Subhani informed that the DPO Iqbal Dar had constituted an inquiry team consisting DSP headquarter, the chairman of the District Public Safety and Police Complaint Commission, Mohammad Khan Korai and the TPO Moro to probe into the matter.

The protesters said Abdul Qadir was not killed in the encounter as claimed by the police but he was arrested from his house and later killed in a fake encounter. The father of the deceased said his son was a social worker. He said he was not involved in any crime and there was no case against him.
