PESHAWAR, Jan 25: The Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has called upon the federal government to desist from using force in Balochistan.

Speaking at a party meeting at the Kurvi village in Akbarpura on Tuesday, PMAP's provincial senior vice-president Haji Inamullah Khalil blamed the federal government for the unrest in Gilgit, South Waziristan and Sui.

He alleged that the ruling clique wanted to subjugate the Sindhi, Baloch and Pukhtun nations to continue its domination over the natural resources in their provinces.

Mr Khalil accused Punjab of imposing its political will on smaller provinces in the name of national solidarity. However, he added, the 'deprived' provinces would not allow Punjab to exploit their resources any longer.

He alleged that the Punjabi ruling classes had been exploiting the smaller provinces' resources for the last 57 years and time had come to end this exploitation.

He said the Baloch had been struggling for their right to ownership on Balochistan's seaports and natural gas of Sui, but the federal government was refusing to accept their demand.

The Pukhtuns, he stressed, should also continue their struggle for the ownership of electricity, water and other resources of the NWFP. Later, the PMAP announced names of party office-bearers for the Kurvi village.
