By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: Ambassador of Japan in Pakistan Nobuaki Tanaka has said that a delegation of 23 Japanese businessmen will visit Pakistan in March and Prime Minister of Japan is also likely to visit Pakistan this year.

In a meeting with Board of Investment Chairman Waseem Haqqie here on Tuesday, the Japanese envoy said that the delegation would enter into meaningful dialogue with Pakistani counterpart of private sector and explore the possibilities of investment and trade between the two sides.

He admitted that macroeconomic indicators were improving and said that Japan had lifted ban from Pakistan on "Yen loans" and would extend economic assistance to it on project-to-project basis in addition to technical assistance of $100 million.

He said that the Japanese investors needed to be informed about the improvement in the law and order situation and macroeconomic indicators as they had some reservations about security in Pakistan.

Mr Haqqie ensured the Japanese envoy that all possible assistance would be extended to the upcoming Japanese delegation and explained him about the investment policy.
