KARACHI: People throng beaches on Eid


KARACHI, Jan 23: People thronged beaches and Quaid's mausoleum as a part of Eid festivity. Thousands of people mostly children visited Mazar-i-Quaid and beaches at Clifton, Seaview, Sandspit, Hawkesbay and Neelam Point on the second day of Eid.

The gardens around the mausoleum were packed with people especially children wearing colourful dresses giving a festive look to the whole area. Security was beefed up in the metropolis by the law enforcing agencies to prevent any untoward incident. Police were on high alert for the last one week.

The beaches were crowded in the afternoon as people completed sacrifice of animals and distribution of sacrificial meat. Many visitors enjoyed ride on decorated camels and horses by the coastal line.

A number of localities were cleaned and offal were removed during the two days of Eid, however, certain areas were stinking from the smell of blood and residual of sacrificial animals. -APP
