PESHAWAR, Jan 20: The Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) has urged President Gen Pervez Musharraf to employ political means to solve the Balochistan issue instead of using military as the use of force will complicate the problem.

In a press statement issued here on Thursday, ARD General Secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the language used by Gen Musharraf in his TV interview to resolve the issue of Balochistan was against social norms.

"Jamhoori Watan Party chief Akbar Bugti is a patriotic politician, who always worked for strengthening democracy in the country," he maintained. The ARD secretary asked the government to desist from launching any military operation in Balochistan and South Waziristan and solve all the political issues amicably.
