Drawback rates cut

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has reduced the rates of duty drawback on export of various types and sizes of tyres.

According to the customs notification, the new rates will be effective from January 13, 2005.

The rate of duty drawback will be Rs15.33 per piece on export of motorcycle tyres, all sizes; Rs11.83 per piece on scooter tyres, all sizes; Rs11.29 per piece on export of trolley tyres, all sizes; Rs16.20 per piece on rickshaw tyres, all sizes; Rs4.13 per piece on wheelbarrow (trolley) tyres, all sizes; Rs5.06 per piece on motorcycle tubes, all sizes; Rs4.32 per piece on scooter tubes, all sizes; Rs5.18 per piece on rickshaw tubes, all sizes and Rs2.77 per piece on wheelbarrow (trolley) tubes, all sizes.

Furthermore, the CBR has also notified reduction in the rate of duty drawback on export of wooden furniture. The new rates will be effective from January 13, 2005, said a customs notification. The new rate will be 0.73 per cent of the fob value on export of wooden furniture.
