KARACHI, Jan 8: The additional secretary-general of the Pakistan Muslim League and chairman of the Senate committee on information, Nisar A. Memon, has said that henceforth the PML governments at the centre and in the provinces will be run under policy and planning given by the party.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a 'Policy and planning office' of the PML Sindh here on Saturday.

He said a 'Central policy and planning office' would soon be established in Islamabad, and linked to the provincial offices.

Nisar Memon said a comprehensive report in this regard had been prepared and forwarded to the central and provincial leadership.

He said the report had been accepted in principle and would soon be published as a document for distribution among PML workers to elicit their opinion and suggestions. Later, the report would be adopted as a policy document.

Pointing out that the PML now had its offices in all the provinces and cities, Mr Memon urged the office-bearers to be available in their respective offices and have interaction with party workers and take steps for solving problems of the people.

He said the PML today was more united and stronger than before and was capable of giving policies to the government. "These policies will be in addition to the party's electoral manifesto. These will be such policies which the prime minister and chief ministers will be constrained to follow," he added.

Mr Memon urged the workers to start political activities without any pressure or fear and come out with solutions to problems of the people.

In this regard, he called upon them to focus on local government, because, he said, if they wanted to serve the people, they would have to have their own elected nazims and councillors.

The Pakistan Muslim League, Nisar Memon said, was committed to the cause of supremacy of parliament and national security.

He said the PML was computerising its setup on an all-Pakistan basis, and when this gigantic task was completed, one would be able to watch the economic and development activities taking place anywhere in the country under the banner of the Muslim League by sitting in Islamabad.

One could see what and where the development projects were taking place or where development activity was needed.

He said he had been given an assignment in this regard and after review of the task, teams had been set up to carry out this work.

Nisar Memon said that in a democratic party it was imperative to work practically for the cause of the people.

Earlier, Khanzada Imran welcomed Nisar Memon and highlighted the objectives of the establishment of the policy and planning office.
