Restoration of gas supply ordered

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 8: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon has issued orders for immediate restoration of gas supply to textile units in the Gadoon Industrial Estate, NWFP.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) Chairman Arif Saeed in a recent meeting with the minister in Islamabad raised the issue of disconnection of natural gas supply to the textile units.

The Aptma chief apprised the minister of extreme hardships being faced by these industrial units after discontinuation of gas supply. The minister immediately issued orders for the restoration of gas to all affected units.

It was also agreed to have closer coordination of industry with concerned authorities in the event of load-shedding. It was assured that preventive actions for continuous supply of gas and power would be taken in the larger interest of the industry.
