KARACHI, Jan 5: A policeman on Wednesday shot and killed two motorcycle snatchers and wounded their accomplice in North Nazimabad.

According to reports, three men on a motorcycle intercepted SI Naeem who was on a motorcycle in plainclothes in Block C of North Nazimabad, and was heading towards the office of the Town Investigation Officer.

As the three suspects demanded motorcycle, SI Naeem handed over the two- wheeler. As they were fleeing, the police official took position and opened fire on the suspects, killing one of them, identified as Faizullah, 35, on the spot.

Mohammad Afzal, 40, who was also wounded in the firing, died on way to the hospital. Their third accomplice was also wounded. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment. Police recovered a TT pistol and a snatched motorcycle (NF-4099) from their possession.

ACCIDENT: An elderly man died in a road accident and his associate was injured in Malir City police limits on Wednesday. Police said that eight-year-old Ameer Bukash was driving the Datsun pickup truck (KF-6316), cleaner of the vehicle Tanveer Khan, 18, was also sitting next to the driver when the vehicle rammed into a truck. Subsequently, Ameer Bukash suffered serious injuries and died on the spot. His cleaner was rushed to the JPMC for treatment.

LOOTED: Armed suspects looted a private clinic near UP Mor on Wednesday. Police said several suspects barged into a private clinic and deprived the inmates of valuables and cash.
