KOHAT, Dec 18: Police have decided to install computerized cameras at four sensitive routes around the city besides launching a 'safe home' project to control incidents of terrorism, theft, robberies and kidnappings.

The SSP of Kohat said this at a function held at the police club to highlight the achievements and objectives of the Rescue 15 centre on Friday.

The function was attended by office-bearers of business organizations, industrialists, philanthropists and elected representatives.

District Nazim Malik Asad announced grant of Rs100,000 and four motorcycles for the Rescue 15 and appreciated its performance.

A sum of Rs165,000 was donated for the Rescue 15, Kohat centre, on the occasion. A businessman announced that he would give Rs5,000 every month to the centre and another promised to get replaced the tyres of its ambulance.

SSP Dr Ishtiaq Marwat claimed that police had provided best possible services to the public despite shortage of funds and manpower.

He said police would soon launch a 'safe home' project which would help control incidents of theft, robberies and kidnappings.

He said bomb disposal squads would be deployed in all sensitive areas of the city to check terrorism. He announced setting up of another Rescue 15 centre in Lachi town.

The business community demanded that the government should cancel transfer orders of the official in charge of the Rescue 15 centre Mustafa Gul Kaka Khel to the National Accountability Bureau.
