KARACHI, Dec 17: The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has clarified that the condition of asking shipment schedule and proof of audited quota by December 20, 2004 for over-shipment in the US categories will apply only for "air shipments."
According to an EPB circular issued her on Friday regarding the over-shipments in the US categories 338, 347/348, 369(S), 360, 361, 666-S and 666-P, the exporters can submit the photocopy of Form C (transfer deed) along with tentative shipment schedule if audited quota was not readily available in case of "sea shipment."
The EPB said that this facility has been provided on the request of the exporters. It further said that the exporters would inform the EPB and association about the shipment schedule as soon as shipment dates are confirmed.
Similarly, the EPB has advised exporters that their goods should be ready by December 31, 2004 for availing the facility of air-lifting. The US authorities have allowed entry of 5 per cent of over-shipped textile categories of base ceiling from Pakistan from February 1, 2005.
The government had offered textile exporters to the US in these categories to finance airlifting of their consignment to American destinations and also to bear the cost of warehousing at the US ports.
The bureau has extended the date for receiving applications from December 15, 2004 to December 25, 2004 for shipment by sea and for air by December 20, 2004 for airlifting their cargo.
Earlier, EPB had asked exporters to submit confirmed order L/C, proof of audited quota in exporters pass book (Original) along with photocopies and schedule of shipment with their applications. -APP
