PML-N rules out patch-up with 'dictatorship'

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 15: The PML-N on Wednesday ruled out reconciliation with the 'military dictatorship.' MNA Khwaja Saad Rafiq, who is also provincial secretary-general of the party, said in a statement that military dictatorship and national reconciliation could not go together.

He said indications that Gen Musharraf could take off his uniform, release political prisoners or allow the exiled leaders to return home were insufficient for national reconciliation.

He said differences with the rulers were not personal, but were based on principles. The policies being pursued by the rulers were in conflict with religious values, federation, the constitution and the integrity of the country. He said the PML-N had been going steadfast and would remain so even in the future.

SEMINAR: The PML-N Lawyers Forum is holding a seminar on the "Fall of Dhaka and threats to Pakistan" at the Karachi Hall of the Lahore High Court building on Dec 18. Sirdar Zulfiqar Khosa and Khwaja Mahmood Ahmad will be among the speakers.
