KARACHI, Dec 10: The Japan International Cooperation Agency has offered assistance to the Sindh government for revitalization of development projects in the city, including technical cooperation in the form of transfer of technology.

This offer was made by a two-member delegation led by Hiro Hiyakawa during a meeting with Chief Secretary Aslam Sanjrani and other officials, which was also attended City Nazim Naimatullah Khan.

The Sindh government identified some of the projects for revitalization, including those pertaining to industrial area, Karachi Circular Railway, water supply system, sewerage and leakages, for Japanese assistance.

Earlier, Mr Hiyakawa said that the agency was willing to extend the infrastructural and technical assistance in the fields of human resource, education, environment, health and road sector development, and also for providing vocational training in schools hospitals, besides designing and handicraft manufacturing.

The Additional CS, Mohammad Saleem Khan, pointed out that the planning and development department had identified the said projects. The chief secretary that the city needs the solution of hygienic, water, improved sewerage system, transport system.

DCO, Fazl-ur-rehman, said six garbage-dumping stations, elevated expressways/alternate roads, bypasses and water supply projects had been conceptualized for action by the city government.
