KARACHI: Govt cancels plots along KPT flyover

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 2: The Sindh government has cancelled the offer letter pertaining to several plots on Korangi Road to their potential buyer as the land involved is now required for the construction of a road for the KPT flyover , which is being built at Hino Chowk at a cost of Rs606 million.

The decision was taken by the Tameer-i-Karachi Programme Committee which met here on Thursday with Chief Secretary Aslam Sanjrani in the chair. The meeting reviewed progress of the flyover project.

It was told that the provisional offer letter issued to the potential buyer of the plots was being withdrawn to enable the government to hand over the land to the KPT.

The project, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in October, is scheduled to be completed within two years. The oval-shaped KPT flyover, with a five-lane roadway, would provide signal-free travelling to commuters.
