LAHORE, Nov 20: More than 3,000 Indian Sikh yatrees will arrive here on Sunday by three special trains to participate in the 535th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.
Officials of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) will receive the pilgrims at Wagah railway station where they will also be provided light refreshment.
The yatrees, several of whom will also arrive by air, on the first leg of their visit will reach Hassan Abdal to visit Gurdawara Punja Sahib where they will will perform their religious rituals.
On Nov 24, the Sikh pilgrims will proceed to the Nankana Sahib to participate in the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak, where they will stay for four days.
On the last leg of their visit, the yatrees will reach the provincial capital to perform religious rites at Gurdawara Dera Sahib here.
Apart from India, a large number of Sikhs from across the world will converge at the Nankana Sahib to participate in the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.
Gurdawaras in all cities in Pakistan have been suitably decorated for the occasion.
Police and other law enforcing agencies have made special security measures for the visitors. Besides, public call booths and a special post office have also been set up in the Gurdawara Janam Asthan to facilitate the pilgrims, who are expected to be around 6000 in number.
The Indian Sikh yatrees will return home on Nov 30.-APP
