SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 7: Sadar police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two outlaws after some two-hour encounter near Herdave village on Gujranwala Road, some 20kms from here.

Acting on a tip-off that some outlaws had taken shelter in the village, a police party headed by the SHO besieged their hideout. Later, DPO Shahid Iqbal also reached the spot and supervised the operation.

Getting wind of police arrival, the outlaws opened fire on police which was retaliated. After a shootout of some two hours, the police succeeded in arresting the two lawbreakers while their as many accomplices managed to escape. The arrested outlaws were later identified as Anwar and Shaukat.

The bandits were wanted by various police stations in Sheikhupura division in dozens of cases of dacoity, robbery, murder and other heinous crime.
