PESHAWAR, Nov 4: The international electronic media is portraying Muslims as terrorists and is involved in a propaganda campaign against them, says a Jamaat-i-Islami leader. The JI's provincial amir and senior minister Sirajul Haq was addressing a party meeting on Thursday.

Accusing the US of being involved in terrorism all over the world, he termed the projecting of Muslims as terrorists a pre-planned conspiracy and said anti-Islam forces were working behind the scene for the disintegration of the Muslim world and said they were involved in terrorist activities all over the world.

He said innocent people were being killed in Palestine, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iraq and Bosnia but media was presenting the oppressed as terrorists.

Stressing the need for the people to reaffirm faith, He said that Muslims should practice Islam in its true sense to counter all conspiracies, adding that returning to the basics was the only way to save them from downfall.

He said that there was a vital need for the Muslim leaders to unite on a single platform. He said the NWFP government was providing such a platform.
