16 federal secretaries transferred

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has reshuffled top bureaucracy, official sources told Dawn on late Sunday night.

The sources said that the prime minister had transferred 16 federal secretaries and appointed five additional secretaries to look after various divisions. A notification in this regard would be issued in a day or two.

According to the sources, Javed Sadiq Malik, Secretary Planning Division, has been made principal secretary to the prime minister.

Shuja Shah has been made secretary economic affairs division in place of Dr Wiqar Masood Khan, who has been transferred to the Prime Minister's Secretariat as special secretary.

Azad Kashmir Chief Secretary Shahid Rafi has been made additional secretary in-charge of the Ministry of Information in place of Information Secretary Anwar Mehmood who has been given the assignment of secretary health.

The names of other secretaries who have been transferred were not available.
