KARACHI: Issuance of lease to kutchi abadis begins today


KARACHI, Oct 15: On the directive of City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, the city government will start holding camps for issuance of lease to the residents of 278 kutchi abadis from Oct 16 (today).

Initially, 17 such camps will be set up for the purpose. According to the city government, the lease issuance work will be completed by 15th of Ramazan. All camps would be organized at the union council level, however, town administrations would supervise the lease work, a CDGK handout said on Friday.

Authentication by the UC nazim concerned would be compulsory for the plots against whom lease would be issued, it added. The city nazim would distribute lease documents among the people at the camps every day at 3pm and at 9.30pm on alternate days, it said, adding that all payments concerning the lease would have to be made through pay orders.

The city government has fixed Rs25 for each lease file, against which a receipt will be issued. To guide the people and provide necessary information to them, a centre is being set up in room no 110 of the city nazim's secretariat, which will remain open from 9am to 6pm.

The people have been asked to contact leader of the house in the City Council, Muslim Pervez, chairman, Land Revenue and the Kutchi Abadis Committee, Syed Goharul Islam, EDO (Revenue) Mohammed Waseem and DO, Kutchi Abadis, Razia Sultana, at their offices for further detail and guidance.

The city government has published all lease files and forms which would be available at lease camps only, and no non-government functionary will be allowed to sell lease form.

REGULARIZATION: KBCA officials will set up their camp at Jamshed Town nazim's office from Oct 16. According to a press release, citizens could benefit from the regularization till Dec 31. Town residents could get the forms for Rs100. -APP/PPI
