'Ties with Riyadh to be boosted'

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: President Gen Pervez Musharraf said on Tuesday that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed close brotherly relationship and expressed the hope that these would be enhanced through increased defence cooperation.

Talking to Saudi Assistant Minister for Defence, Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, here at the Aiwan-i-Sadr, the president said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had fraternal relations based on common bonds of religion, culture and history.

Recalling his visit to Saudi Arabia earlier this year, the president said he had wide-ranging talks with the Saudi leadership on expanding trade and economic cooperation. -APP
