Rocket blasts jolt Kabul

KABUL, Oct 12: A series of apparent rocket explosions jolted Kabul late on Monday, hours after German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder paid a visit. ISAF said that a 16-year-old boy died of wounds suffered in the rocket strikes.

Witnesses said the blasts appeared to have been caused by five rockets. Two struck the centre of the Afghan capital, and three more appeared to have been fired toward the Kabul airport. -dpa
