'No contacts between ARD, MMA over uniform issue'

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim has said no contact has been made between the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and the ARD on the issue of launching movement against Gen Musharraf's uniform.

Talking to reporters at the Parliament House here on Friday, the ARD chief once again criticized the MMA for strengthening the hands of Gen Musharraf by supporting the government in the 17th Amendment.

Mr Fahim was of the view that the MMA also had a role in the present crisis, being faced by the country. He said only opposition parties were being invited to all parties conference in Lahore on October 11.

Mr Fahim, who returned from the US on Thursday, said he had gone to the US to attend a conference. He denied the impression that he had gone to the US to finalize any deal.
