ISLAMABAD, Oct 7: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Thursday submitted three more adjournment motions and two call-attention notices (CANs) in the National Assembly , seeking debate on Thursday's bomb blast in Multan, government's failure to handle the situation in North and South Waziristan, the rampant load-shedding, fare raise for Haj and Umra pilgrims and education minister's statement.

On Wednesday, the alliance had submitted an adjournment motion seeking debate on a suicide attack on a Shia mosque in Sialkot in which 30 people were killed and more than 50 injured.

Through the first adjournment motion the MMA has sought to discuss the car bomb blast in Multan on Thursday which left 40 people dead and 100 injured. "The incident takes place within a week of the Sialkot suicide attack which speaks volumes about the worst deterioration of the law and order situation in the country which the government has failed to control," the motion said.

Through the second adjournment motion, the alliance has sought discussion on armed clashes between security forces and local tribesmen in North and South Waizristan agencies.

Through the third adjournment motion, the MMA has sought to debate un-announced load shedding by Wapda throughout the country which has resulted in power failures for hours.

Through the call attention notice, the MMA has raised the issue of an increase in PIA fares for Haj and Umra pilgrims, saying that the increase had badly hit a lot of people who wanted to go to Mekkah and Madina to perform Umra. Through another call attention notice, the MMA has pointed out a recent statement of federal education minister and termed it serious.
