MMA to resist govt motion on uniform

By Our Correspondent

SARGODHA, Oct 7: Opposition leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that if the ruling party presents a motion in favour of General Musharraf's uniform at the National Assembly session on Friday (today), the MMA will resort to boycott.

Talking to media men here on Wednesday night, he said the MMA had not entered into any secrete deal with the government in this regard. He said some media people were creating dis-information that the MMA was getting benefits by exploiting the issue of uniform.

Fazl said there were no differences in the MMA ranks and all the component parties were united on revival of 'real' democracy and supremacy of parliament. Replying to a question, he said it would be of no value and importance if the ARD called a roundtable conference on Oct 11, excluding the MMA.
