TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 7: Amjad Farooqi was laid to rest on Thursday morning at 4am amid tight security. Faisalabad ASP Osama brought the body under his supervision late Wednesday night at about 12.15.
At least 900 people of Chak 687/27-GB attended his funeral prayers. Apart from slogans of 'aljihad' raised by a few boys, the funeral procession remained peaceful up to the graveyard outside the village.
CASE: Chuttiana police on Thursday registered the second case under new police order against its former SHO Muhammad Younas on the charge of contempt of court on the order of district and sessions judge Sardar Ahmad Chaudhry.
The DSJ had asked accused Muhammad Younas some four months back to register a case against two PTCL officials for allegedly injuring a landlord's tenant at Chak 347-GB. But the accused had not only refused to register the case but also pressurised the complainant to change the names of accused persons.
