PESHAWAR: Staff union complains of mismanagement

By Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Oct 7: PTV Central Employees' Union has expressed concern over mismanagement in the corporation and has asked the authorities concerned to save it from bankruptcy.

A press release issued here on Thursday quoted the union's central president Mohammad Saleem Khan as saying that PTV's financial situation was yet to show any improvement despite the assumption of charge by the new managing-director five months ago.

He said that the employees, who once got four bonuses every year, were not getting any bonus, adding that artistes' payments were being inordinately delayed.

Criticizing what he termed a lack of management, he said that the situation was worsening, adding that on the one hand the government was hiring inexperienced people as advisers on exorbitant salaries, while on the other hand it was contending that the PTV was overstaffed. He said that the union would continue to oppose the wrong policies of the authorities.
