SAHIWAL: Two drown in Ravi

SAHIWAL, Sept 22: Two friends drowned in River Ravi here on Tuesday near Dodha Sahukay village. Sikandar Ali and Mian Khan were grazing their cattle along the bank of the river.

Two buffaloes entered the water. Sikandar jumped into the river to bring the animals back. Seeing him drowning, Mian Khan also jumped into the water to save his friend. Both drowned in the river. The bodies were traced and buried in the village graveyard.

BOOKED: Civil Lines police on Wednesday registered a case under Police Order 2002 against its investigation cell in-charge. Reports said the sessions judge summoned Nadeem Mujtaba on Sept 5. The accused police inspector rejected the show-cause notice and passed derogatory remarks against the court.

Civil Judge Javedul Hassan Chishti conducted the inquiry and established the charges on which the case was registered under Section 155/C of the Police Order 2002. Mr Mujtaba had not been arrested till the filing of this report.
