Five bandits killed in shootout

By A Correspondent

MULTAN, Sept 12: Five alleged bandits were killed in what the Alipur police in Muzaffargarh district claim a shootout between law enforcers and the Bosan gang of outlaws.

According to the police, some five bandits kidnapped Basheer Laang for ransom from the precinct of Seetpur police station on Saturday night and were taking him to the riverine belt alongside the River Indus when the law enforcers got them near Mithanwali village.

On seeing the police, the outlaws took positions in the nearby fields and opened fire at the law enforcers. The police retaliated. Firing lasted for two-and-a-half-hours.

Later, when silence prevailed police searched the area and found dead bodies of all the five bandits lying in a pool of blood. Alipur SDPO Mirza Ameer said that the police recovered five Kalashnikovs and hundreds of rounds from the possession of the killed outlaws.
