KARACHI, Sept 12: The 11th-hour pull out by the PAF team from the ongoing junior hockey tournament has left the technical officials in a quandary as they failed to inform about their line of action after the development.
PAF were scheduled to participate in the tournament but opted to pull their team out of the contest barely 24 hours before the start of the competition. They were scheduled to play National Bank in the opening match on last Friday but shocked the organizers by pulling out.
However, neither the reason of PAF's decision could be known nor the technical officials were aware what should be their course of action against the team. Tournament director Hassan Sardar when contacted was not able to answer queries regarding PAF's pull-out. The official said he had no idea what action could and should be taken against PAF for pulling its team back at the last moment.
"I do not know why the PAF pulled out. I will not be recommending any action against the PAF. Only Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) could take any action since the PAF are their affiliated unit," Hassan said.
Surprisingly, Hassan said he had no idea whether the teams who were to play PAF would be given walkover or the schedule should be revised. "I don't know what should be done. But I think the teams should be given walkover in this case," Hassan replied when asked whether the teams would be given walkover against the PAF.
