KARACHI, Sept 7: The internal and external situation of the country demands that the president should not remove his uniform, and the Pakistan Muslim League legislators would shortly be moving a resolution in the next session of the Sindh Assembly.

The issue would also be discussed in general council meeting of the party. These views were expressed by the PML Sindh chapter secretary-general Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh at a press conference at his residence on Tuesday.

Explaining party stand on resolution of issues, he said that we believe that all issues be resolved with mutual understanding and co-operation. He lamented the "antagonistic" attitude of the opposition and said it does not provide a solution, but results in further complication and also causes harm to the country and the democracy.

Mr Shaikh, who is also Sindh minister for revenue, also flayed the attitude of the opposition in the Sindh assembly. The opposition, he said, created an uproar on the issue which was not on the agenda.

The PPP which had requisitioned the session had no issue to raise seriously, he said. The PML, he said, had always tried to run the House business effectively but it was the opposition which requisitions the session and then runs away from the House.

Reply to questions, he said his party always represented the aspirations of the people of Sindh whether it was water issue or NFC Award, the party had taken an open stand.

About the issuance of National Identity Cards, he said that PML believes that these be issued to all those who have made Sindh their permanent abode and had been living with their families. But other than locals, ought to contact the NARA authorities.
