Karachi safe for investment

KARACHI, Sept 6: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul Ibad has said that Karachi is as secured for investment and economic activities as any other city of the world.

Talking to a delegation of US investors who called on him at Governor House on Monday, the governor informed them that the government was making best efforts for maintenance of law and order and investment with the available resources.

In this regard, he said, besides provision of infrastructure, the rules and regulations had been simplified and an investment friendly environment was being promoted by removing all bureaucratic hurdles and regulations complications.

The US investors, who want to set up a scrap metal processing facility in Karachi of international standard, briefed the governor about the details of the project. The delegation members, too, described the investment climate in Karachi as conducive.

They said that through their personal observations, they found the perception being promoted quite contrary as even at midnight they saw the city vibrant and humming with life. The governor appreciated the sentiments of the delegation and assured them of all government co-operation for investment here. --APP
