KARACHI: Free phone connections

KARACHI, Sept 4: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd issued over 12,000 demand notes under its free telephone connection scheme during the last three days.

According to the PTCL spokesman, over 100 camps have been set up to issue demand notes in different parts of the city. He claimed that public response had been very encouraging since Sept 2 when the campaign was launched.

The spokesman said that the installation work was also going on simultaneously. In cases, where telephone sets are made available, demand notes had been issued at the cost of telephone sets, he added.

He said that the camps will remain open on Sunday to facilitate the people seeking free telephone connection. The campaign would continue till Sept 8, he added. - APP/PPI
