SIALKOT: School without science teacher for six years

By Our Correspondent

SIALKOT, Sept 4: There has been no science teacher at the Kotli Loharan Government Boys High School, Sialkot tehsil for the last six years, causing a great educational loss to students.

Situated at the constituencies of National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Ameer Hussain and Punjab Industries Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema, the school has only 12 classrooms for more than 1,000 students from the surrounding 70 villages. As a result, students are forced to get education under the sky. There is no facility of cold drinking water, besides shortage of furniture and ceiling fans in hot and humid weather.

Located at a low-lying area, the school often inundates in rain water.

Some school teachers told the correspondent that no one was ready to do the job in such a far-flung area.

Local people were of the view that the condition of the school negated the tall claims of the district government regarding development of education sector.
