KARACHI: Youth shot dead

KARACHI, Sept 2: Unknown suspects shot dead a young man near Sohrab Goth on Thursday. Police said Azmat Khan, 18, suffered bullet wounds when he was fired upon by some suspects riding a motorcycle. He was taken to JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police suspected some personal enmity as a possible motive behind the killing.

DIES: The Prince Cinema raid took a tragic turn on Thursday when an employee of the cinema arrested in the raid led by the home minister, died of cardiac arrest on the court premises where he had gone for hearing.

Mohammad Yameen, 60, was waiting for his turn in the court of a judicial magistrate in the city courts when he suffered the attack. He was taken to the Civil Hospital in a police mobile where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The victim was the manager of a canteen located in the cinema.

ROOF COLLAPSE: The roof of a house caved in following an explosion late on Wednesday night. Police said the blast occurred in a house near Khawaja Ajmair Nagri in which a woman was slightly injured.

According to police, Munawar Khan had recently come from South Waziristan and was staying in a house in New Rasheedabad. On Wednesday night, a blast occurred which also caused minor injuries to Munnawar's wife. Officials of the bomb disposal squad said that it was a cracker blast. Police are interrogating Munnawar.
